Located on Route 6 in Mahopac, NY, our Hospital has been providing services and building on our excellent reputation since 1983.  We are committed to being a center of excellence, as evidenced by our individualized, compassionate and thorough care, our ongoing professional training and our investment in state-of the-art medical and diagnostic equipment.

Doctors and Staff
We practice team medicine, our Doctors, Technicians, and Assistants meet  twice daily to discuss cases and develop treatment plans.  We are happy to oblige if you have a preferred Doctor or wish to continue seeing the same Doctor,  but your pet will benefit from having an immediate (and no-charge) second or third opinion from our team.

  • Dr. Steven Sterman, DVM

    Dr. Sterman has been in practice at Mahopac since 1986.  His interests include surgery and diagnostic ultrasound.  Dr. Sterman has raised three daughters in the community and appreciates the important place of the companion animal in the life of the family. His guiding principle as expressed in the hospital's motto, "always caring, always learning," is to use the latest available technology and constant training to meet the needs of the pet in a family environment.

  • Dr. Victor Scaperotti, DVM

    Dr. Vic graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. He graduated in the top 5% of his class and received several major awards for companion animal care. After completing his internship at the renowned Oradell Animal Hospital in NJ, he practiced for 2 years in Stamford Connecticut, and then returned to his home town area to practice at The Mahopac Animal Hospital, where he has been practicing since 1998. He has been described by his clients as having a wonderful Dr's "Bed-side Manner" and "a true blessing to his patients". Dr Vic regularly volunteers at the Putnam County Humane Society Rabies Clinic. In his spare time, he loves spending family time with his wife Denise, his 2 young daughters Olivia and Sophia, and pets "Ned," "Arnold" and "Pokito".
